First Week Report

First Week Report

Let's recall what happened this first week:

Monday, checked my checklist but didn't finished it, got some references about mobile phone from Ivy and reading most of them;

Tuesday, been taught how to operate Nokia mobile phone and how to write an error report by Jean, tried to write one;

Wednesday, since i will take over Jean's job in a week, her told me what her job was and how to complete it everyday and how to use testing tools like QC and TSW, learned to execute test cases;

Thursday, what a bad luck day, PC couldn't login and IT person copied a new OS to my harddisk, so the whole day i just got familiar with the functions of Nokia mobile phone and used the OVI, a mobile instant message application published by Nokia;

Friday, most preparation seemed fine, finally ready to work. Beside the handover work from Jean, i could really execute the latest test cases by offline QC although i didn't report the test results. The worst thing was i didn't save my test results, fortunately, i did save my error report practice in another document.

Basically, that's all i do last week. The following is my first week report:

First, Learning situation: hammerring away at absorbing new knowledge about mobile communication; get famillar with the work schedule and testing flow; learn to how to fill in all different documents, etc.

Second, Test cases execution: I didn't count the total number of test cases that i executed. Maybe twenty-five to thirty. It is eay to execute them by using offline QC, but it isn't easy to execute them with patience all the time which i believe it's the problem that every testing engineer have to face and deal with. Given my lack of knowledge of Nokia mobile phone, I have many things to ask Jean who help me a lot.

Third, The Quality of error report: There is no doubt my ability of writing an error report is just so so. Practise makes perfect, there are my practise----

I just try it, leave you to evaluate. BTW, Jean told me No.2 and No.3 errors are new error. That give me a little confidence.

Finally, Advices and Suggestions: As a rookie, the best way to adapt new enviroment is to be silence and just to look and learn? LOL. So many new things to learn, and time is flying. So far so good, looking forward to an all new week.
